Being holistically healthy means aspects of you and your physical body has reached optimal wellness. These aspects include:

Your Chakras
Chakras are energy centres, or vortexes, that channel life energy. Blockages result in illness or functioning at a lower level. Yoga, breathing exercises, good posture, meditation and visualisation can all help clear your chakras. Your chakras are associated with your mental, physical, & emotional interactions.

Your Roots
To be rooted is similar to how some see being in control. A feeling of being behind the wheel. But in truth, being rooted is understanding the Big picture, our part in it and learning from Wisdom. And easy and fast method is by ‘seeing’ red – the root chakra. Once you get used to this visual you can improve on it by visualising planting a red seed that germinates into a red-leafed Maple, growing strong and sending solid roots into the Earth.

Your Breathing
Many emotional/physical states can be improved by correct breathing. Breath is a Life Force that we often deprive ourselves of. Correct breathing happens by entering through the nose with only the belly moving out (shoulders and chest stay still) and breathing out through the mouth, creating a pull from the bellybutton to the spine. The speed that you breathe in this way, can alter your energy. Faster breathing will create energy whereas slower breathing will be calming.

Your Creativity
Creative expression heals and gives. To create is an ultimate positive during which time energy replacement happens and you’re left feeling happier and perhaps transformed. Art therapy is a successful medium to give expression and release where it’s needed – to young and old.

Your True Self
Staying true to oneself is easy when we focus on it, but losing focus is just as easy – a reality we must always stay aware of. To learn from others is and have empathy is encouraged, but to take ownership of others’ energy, emotions and reality is ill-advised.

Your Physical Self
As adults we are responsible for healthy diets, exercise and all aspects physical. As with Ayurveda, it is vital that we keep all aspects in equilibrium. We must also protect ourselves from harmful ingredients and effects of psychological issues, noise and bad posture, food, water and air, dental/medical materials/procedures, household and cosmetic products, clothing/other fabrics plus electrical appliances.

Your Aura

Your Resting
Resting is as important as sleeping. Sometimes our bodies need meditation/prayer/quiet contemplation time more than sleep. Create a spiritual & personal space for your quiet time. This could simply involve a little side table or bench in the garden. Resting is vital in stress relief and simply concentrating on a bug in the garden 10 minutes a day will do wonders. Scientific research on meditation has shown helpful to treating epilepsy, anxiety disorders, blood pressure disorders, esteem and psychological disorders. Other benefits include psychological healing, improved sleep, creativity, self-esteem & self-control, order & inner peace, less medical care and an anti-ageing effect.

Holistic health

Loosely meaning the physical, mental, emotional and spiritual aspects of an individual which are interconnected and thus treated with equal importance.

In modern Western medicine, the whole body gets far more attention than ever before. Health practitioners now believe that for example, a fitter person is a happier one due to chemicals released during exercise. And that a depression-sufferer may have aches and pains in the body due to emotional and mental condition etc.

Thus a holistic approach will look at the whole body and person when analysing health complications and treatments.

Weight Loss through Successful Dieting!

The truth?

A diet in which you eat less but healthier foods and exercise more is the best kind.

Ask yourself why do you need to diet? What do you need to change about your diet and how nutritious a diet should it be? Are you eating for comfort or are your taste buds your greatest enemies? Do you punish yourself for weak moments and then give up a healthy plan?

Answer these questions truthfully to yourself before reading on if you want to successfully loose weight.

To loose weight and keep it off, your dieting mind needs to remember:

Eat less, more frequently and much slower. Chew slowly and count every bite's chewing if you have to. Stop after the decided amount and brush your teeth! A fresh mouth seldom craves as badly.

More frequent small meals are essential for a successful diet and weight loss as it keeps your metabolism healthy. Fibre are filling and keeps our sugar levels consistent while veggies, whole grains and fruits, legumes and ‘thin' meats are great food choices that will give energy the right way.

If you exercise and burn more than your intake, you WILL lose weight! When you reach your ultimate weight and want to simply sustain, you need to balance your burn-off with your intake. As simple as that!

Diets worst matches:

"Fast Diets" slow your metabolism down, making it impossible to keep weight off.

Fat can be via the healthiest foods and still add kerb your diet instead of loosing weight. Fat is the diet's worst enemy and appears in cheeses, mayonnaises, crisps, fried foods and pastries, meats and full-cream dairies.

Sugar and diets isn't a good match. When our insulin spikes too fast, it drops afterwards and that feeling is our enemy, for then you are tired and hungry. Tired and hungry often result in binging.

Laziness and idleness often makes us undisciplined. Stay fit, stay busy and stay focused!

Be realistic. Your diet is a mental shift and until your mind becomes your best weight loss buddy, you will find every step torturous.
