Colds and Flu
Colds, caused by virus infections, are contagious and spread by coughing, sneezing and inadequate hygiene.
Symptoms:
Sore throat
Headaches
Runny nose
Dry cough
Sneezing
Loss of appetite and
Low energy.
It is advised to drink plenty fluids, inhale steam with some lemon juice added and go for gentle walks when possible.
Diet: Avoid dairy and other mucus-forming foods. Eat plenty of raw foods and garlic, leeks or onions.
Sip from a cup of boiling hot water with added to a pinch of paprika, ginger, honey, lemon juice and a gram of vitamin C throughout the day.
Herbal teas such as chamomile and lemon balm should be great for relaxing fever tension and ginger and peppermint for general tonic.
Acupressure Apply thumb and index finger to 2 points below cheekbones, directly underneath eye pupils and a centimeter from the end of the nose. Massage gently and circularly.
Aromatherapy Add cinnamon oil to warm bath.
Influenza
Flu is far more severe than a cold and bed rest is of utmost importance.
Symptoms include
High fever
Headaches
Aching muscles
Cough
Chest pain
Weakness
Loss of appetite

Zinc – fights infection and sore throats.
Vitamin B – Fights infection and sore throats (may cause sleep disturbances).
Vitamin C – Sore Throats, fights infections and headaches.

Garlic – sore throats, fever, infection-fighting and expectorant.
Eucalyptus oil in steam baths – fights infection and decongests.
Hop or valerian tablets – headaches and sedation.
Chamomile infusion – headaches, fever, decongestion and sedation.
Sage and eucalyptus – sore throats and infection fighting.
Yarrow and angelica – fever and decongestant.
Elderflower – sore throats, fever, decongestant and expectorant.
Biochemic Tissue Salt solutions include:
Ferr.phos. – fever and cough suppressant.
Kali mur. – cough suppressant.
Combination J - cough suppressant.
Combination Q – decongestant.
