Asthma

Symptoms: difficult breathing, wheezing exhaling sounds, coughing, fast pulse, face turning blue.

Causes: pollen, dust, animal hair or feathers, fungi or mould, allergies, anxiety or stress, hay fever, eczema, chest infections, climate or temperatures.

Naturopathy: Include Vitamin A & C, garlic, onion, turmeric and plenty of steamed vegetables and fresh fruit. For a snack Liquorice is excellent. Avoid all white-flour, fried, oily and smoked foods and those with high levels of sugar, yeast and cheese. Drink 2 teaspoons of cider vinegar added to a cup of hot water with a little honey three times daily.

Treatments could include breathing exercises and Kinesiology, massage, ionisation, osteopathy, yoga, hydrotherapy and acupuncture.

Reflexology: massage areas of lungs, solar plexus, adrenal glands and heart, diaphragm and digestive system, pituitary gland and spine.

Aromatherapy: eucalyptus is effective when used as inhalant.
